Do You Want to Be a Man of God?

How God Makes Men by: Patrick Morley The way Patrick Morley lays out this book in Ten stories by Ten men with Ten proven principles, using ten men from the bible lays the groundwork for how a Biblical man is made. I concur with Patrick’s assertion is that men have lost sight of what it is to be a man of God, it seems that during the 70’s women decided they wanted men to be more open to their feelings and express their emotion. This opened to door giving permission to not be men, to step back and let the women take control of what God intended for men to be. Men have been either feminized or been restricted and lost what God has called them to be. Using Scripture, Patrick shows that it is God’s commitment of raising men that honor, love, serve, sacrifice, and glorify Him.

So we need to ask how does God do this? Patrick lays out ten principles and then gives an example of each from great men of Bible. Abraham show’s how God fortifies a man's faith. Joseph reinforces how God uses men for a greater purpose. Gideon shows how God uses a man's failings and fear into strength. This is just three of the ten examples that Patrick uses to introduce how God makes His men.

I genuinely enjoyed how Patrick is able to show how these principles are connected to Scripture. By doing this he gives life and realism to these principles. Patrick displays in his book how God seriously desires to make men who have an authoritative influence and role in how God will transform the world.

Read/Study this extremely engaging book and learn how to accept the challenge of “There is a God we want, and there is a God who is. They are not the same God. The turning point of our lives is when we stop seeking the God we want and start seeking the God who is.”

This is the compassion of How God Makes Men. A book for every man of God who wants to be how God wishes him to be.
