Do You Seek to See?

8 Philip said, “Master, show us the Father; then we’ll be content.”9 "You've been with me all this time, Philip, and you still don't understand? To see me is to see the Father. So how can you ask, 'Where is the Father?' 10 Don't you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I speak to you aren't mere words. I don't just make them up on my own. The Father who resides in me crafts each word into a divine act. ~ John 14:8-10 (The Message)

Jesus is plainly stating there that He is The Father! His claim of oneness with the Heavenly Father to the disciples is proof of this. Jesus states that when you see Him you see the Father. Jesus always displayed His Deity through His flawless righteousness. He authenticated His position as Lord and Savior through His miracles and transparent teaching leaving no doubt of His oneness with God. This claim brought out the outrage and jealousy of the Sadducees and Pharisees. Christ claims to Divinity created in the limited minds of earth bound humans became a threat to the sovereignty and authority of men. Jesus Christ is in God and God is in Jesus Christ!

Philip’s familiarity with Jesus causes Philip’s faith to fail not allowing Philip to see Jesus as God. This caused Philip to ask to see God before He could believe, but Jesus first told him in order to see you must first believe. Although Philip had been with Jesus for almost 3 years and witnessed Jesus work and countless miracles and all the teaching he had heard from Jesus, there had not been any personal work of grace within the heart of Philip. Is this familiar to you? Is our faith so ingrained into our minds that is has become acts of tradition and habit? We may dearly love the church, the people and the community but has Jesus Christ totally and absolutely subdued our hearts? Do we believe or must we first see? Are we trusting with faith that allows Christ to transform our hearts and lives?

6 My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you've been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. 7 You're deeply rooted in him. You're well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you've been taught. School's out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving. ~ Colossians 2:6-7

Are you able to have faith without seeing? Do you trust that what Jesus says to be truth? If we truly believe that Jesus in in the Father and the Father is in Jesus the mystery of our Christian life, becomes that by faith and faith alone we are in Christ and Christ is in us! The completeness of God the Father lives in each and everyone who by faith embrace Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior as God, an equal part of the Godhead the Trinity. At the very moment we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior we consent that Christ to be all the He declared to be. Jesus Christ, our Bridegroom is through oneness with Him is eager for us to ripen in His grace every day. When we are in unity with the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit love will develop in our lives. Jesus Christ living in us will change us into His likeness.

Do people recognize Christ in you? Have you given yourself totally over to the Holy Spirit that everything that comes from you is from the transformed you the likeness of the one true God? When we give our soul over to Jesus Christ when we submit totally to Jesus Christ we will love as Christ loves. When we totally give our minds to Christ and we fill our heads with Christ things we will begin to think as Christ thinks. When our heart are filed with the person of Christ we will act as Christ acts. When we model our lives after Jesus and submit our will to Jesus our desires with be one with His desires. When we trust that Jesus is God and devote our lives to Him and begin to learn what if means while He continues to change us, we believe then we will be able to see. The more we trust in Our Lord and Savior the more we will see of Our Lord and Savior.

2 I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery. 3 All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we've been shown the mystery! ~ Colossians 2:2-3 (The Message).

Father in our heads we read that You are one with the Son and the Holy Spirit. Give us the knowledge that this is truth, give us the faith and trust that Jesus is in You and You are in Him. Fill Your people with faith and trust allowing us to know You then see You in each other and your works. Amen. <><
