She
has done what she could; she has anointed my body beforehand for
burial. 9 And truly, I say to you, wherever the
gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her. ~ Mark 14:8-9 (ESV)
Have
you ever done the very best you could do and been told that it was not good
enough? In our society today this happens more times than not. God will never
tell you it is not good enough because that is what He expects our very best,
nothing more nothing less. If we combine our best with our Father’s best we
will have a mixture that is unequaled. We often believe Satan’s lies that you
do not have to do anything, God will take care of it, do not worry about it. We
also will go to the other extreme and unnecessarily stress as though everything
relies on us not trusting on that God will help us. Neither one of these are
true or healthy, God purely looks for the very best we have to offer all the
while understanding that we are limited by our sin.
Where
we are in life, our giftedness, our experiences, our availability and our
insights and perceptions all decide our abilities. The ability of others will not
be the same as you, therefore let God delineate what your limits are. There will
always be opportunities, but weigh each situation with your availability and ability
to do your absolute best. Do not agree under compulsion with the knowledge that
your ability to deliver is limited. Have confidence in yourself and God to say
‘no’ now in order to be able to say ‘yes’ when your abilities match the task
and your availability will allow you the necessary time to give your absolute
best!
