Live as Christ, Die as Christ.

6 For while we were still helpless, at the appointed moment, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 For rarely will someone die for a just person-though for a good person perhaps someone might even dare to die. 8 But God proves His own love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us! 9 Much more then, since we have now been declared righteous by His blood, we will be saved through Him from wrath. 10 For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, [then how] much more, having been reconciled, will we be saved by His life! 11And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. ~ Romans 5:6-11

We sometimes watch the news in horror when there is a report of a brutal murder, such as the one recently in the UK where in broad daylight a man beheaded a woman with a machete. This man apparently had been threatening others with this machete and no one tried to stop him. When it comes right down to it most people go into survival mode and will watch in horror and not intervene in fear of their own life. Not Christ, Christ even though He pleaded with His Father to “take this cup from me.” He did not fear for His own life. He saw a machete wielding man, (ourselves), and stepped in to save us from ourselves. Knowing that it was going to cost Him dearly.

This selfless act that cost Christ so much was the only way that we could be declared righteous in the eyes of God. Christ willingness to get involved resulted in our very lives being saved, not this flesh, not this life, but our eternal life! Therefore we must rejoice knowing that Christ took the punishment for our sins upon Himself so that we might have life, life EVERLASTING!

I plead with you, do not waste this gift that was so freely given, this gift that cost so much. Live for Christ. Live each and every day as if it was your last and the last opportunity that you will ever have to save the life of a family member or a dear friend, or even a total stranger. Love each person as God loves you and live as Christ, die as Christ… Amen <><
